Goose & Summer Lakes Basin – Streamflow, Lake & Reservoir Gages

Historical daily statistics for 16 gages

About the Goose & Summer Lakes Basin

The Goose & Summer Lakes Basin, as defined by the Oregon Water Resources Department, covers the closed basins of south-central Oregon’s Lake County, whose streams end in desert lakes and marshes instead of reaching the sea: Silver Creek and Buck Creek to Paulina Marsh near Silver Lake, the spring-fed Ana River to Summer Lake, the Chewaucan River past Paisley to Lake Abert below Abert Rim, Deep, Honey and Twentymile creeks to the Warner Lakes, and Cottonwood and Drews creeks to the Oregon part of Goose Lake near Lakeview. Snowmelt from the Fremont-Winema National Forest and the Warner Mountains brings most of the water in spring; much of it is stored in small reservoirs and used for hay and pasture, and the lakes and marshes are major stops for migrating birds. River Flow Planner covers 16 gages here: streamflow gages with records back to 1905, Lake Abert, Thompson Valley, Drews and Cottonwood reservoirs, two irrigation canals, and a new stage gage on the Chewaucan River at Lake Abert.

What River Flow Planner shows for each gage
