North Coast Basin – Streamflow, River Stage & Tide Gages

Historical daily flow and river stage statistics for 15 gages, and tide forecasts for 22 NOAA tide stations

About the North Coast Basin

Oregon’s North Coast basin includes the short, rain-fed rivers that drain the Coast Range directly to the Pacific. The Oregon Water Resources Department’s North Coast Basin runs from the Columbia River estuary at Astoria south to Neskowin, and includes the Necanicum, Nehalem, Tillamook Bay (Miami, Kilchis, Wilson, Trask and Tillamook) and Nestucca watersheds, plus the Oregon tributaries of the lower Columbia such as the Youngs, Lewis and Clark and Clatskanie rivers. River Flow Planner covers 15 active USGS and OWRD gages here, from small headwater creeks to the Nehalem River near Foss (record since 1939) and the Wilson River near Tillamook (record since 1914). The Wilson River at Sollie Smith Bridge gage reports river stage (gage height) only. It also covers 22 NOAA tide stations on the Columbia River estuary and in Nehalem, Tillamook, Netarts and Nestucca bays: three measure water levels (Astoria, Wauna and Garibaldi), and the other 19 are NOAA tide prediction stations.

What River Flow Planner shows for each gage

Each gage page turns the agency’s full daily record into planning tools for fishing, rafting, kayaking, swimming, irrigation and in-stream work:
